Pet Booster Seat

Care & Use Guide

 

Congratulations on the purchase of your new Solvit Products Pet Booster Seat.   The Booster Seat is designed to fit on all vehicle bucket seats and bench seats with headrest.

 

 INSTALLATION:   The carton should contain a removable fabric liner, two adjustable 1-inch wide straps (one short, one long), one adjustable ½-inch wide strap (two on the XL model), and a “basket” assembly which consists of a rigid backboard with a fabric “basket” and two support rods attached to it. 

 

Set the fabric liner and adjustable straps aside for now, and remove any packing material from the two support rods.  Working one at a time, swivel the rods into a vertical orientation and slip them into the slots at the bottom edge of each side of the basket.  The rods should be visible as they pass through to the inside of the basket.  Carefully slide each rod into the plastic tube located on the inside wall of the basket.  After both rods are fully inserted, push down on the basket floor to make sure the seat is fully assembled and feels stable. 

 

 

 

The removable fabric liner can now be installed.  Find the three slits located about two inches in from one of the edges.  This is the back edge, and the three slits should align with the three D- rings along the back edge of the basket.  Slip the liner over the D-rings and wrap the other edges over the other three sides of the basket, taking care to line up the various hook-and-loop fasteners along each edge.  Adjust the liner inside the basket for the best fit.  To remove the liner for washing, follow the above steps in reverse.

 

 


 

 

 

To install the Booster Seat to the vehicle’s bucket seat, attach the shorter adjustable strap to the two D-rings on the top edge of the basket and slip the strap over the headrest.  Adjust this strap to change the elevation of the Booster Seat.   Attach the longer strap to one of the D-rings on the side of the rigid backboard and loop around the bucket seat and attach to the D-ring on the other side of the backboard.  Tighten this strap to make sure the Booster Seat is secure.   

 

If the bucket seat does not have a headrest, loosen the top strap and allow the Booster Seat to slide down the front of the bucket seat until the backboard is resting on the bottom seat cushion.  Both straps will now be wrapping around the back of the bucket seat.  Tighten both straps to secure the Booster Seat.

 

To install the Booster Seat on a bench seat, (most back seats are bench-types), the seat must have headrests.  Attach the shorter strap as described above for the bucket seat and wrap it around the headrest and adjust as necessary.  The longer strap is not used on bench seat applications. 

 

The ½-inch wide strap can be used as a lead to attach to your pet’s collar or harness (not included).  Fasten one end of the strap to the harness and the other to the D-ring on the center back of the basket.  The length of this strap can be adjusted as needed.

 

WARNING:   Be sure that this strap is adjusted to a length short enough to keep your pet from jumping out of the basket.   If the lead is too long, there is the danger that your pet can jump out of the basket with the lead still attached.   A harness is recommended instead of a collar to secure your pet safely.

 

Cleaning: Promptly wipe up any foreign matter or standing liquid with a damp cloth or sponge.  Machine wash the fabric liner in cold water with mild detergent and line dry.

 

CAUTION:   The Pet Booster seat is not a safety device or long term holding pen.   Do not attempt to make adjustments to the seat or straps while driving.  Do not leave your pet in an unattended vehicle.  Solvit Products is not responsible for injuries suffered by pets as a result of improper adjustment of straps or vehicle accidents.

 

Warranty:  The Pet Booster Seat is warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from date of purchase.  A copy of the original sales receipt is required for warranty issues.
